Following on from the preceding Arhoolie special, Art Crimes will highlight three artists from Arhoolie's catalog: Santiago Jim?nez Sr. and his sons, Santiago Jim?nez Jr., and Leonardo "Flaco" Jim?nez, all three of them known as button accordion masters from San Antonio, Texas. All together, their recording history spans over 70 years, and traces the evolution of the conjunto sound from its traditional origins to contemporary Tex Mex and other hybrid styles. We'll hear these three distinctive players, including Flaco's many collaborations with a wide range of other artists.
