50th Anniversary
KFJC 89.7 FM, 50 years in broadcasting!
On October 20th, 1959 at 8pm, from a broom closet on the old Foothill College campus in Mountain View, California, KFJC began its very first broadcast on frequency 88.5 MHz FM. In the past 50 years KFJC has pushed the boundaries, ushered in the eras of punk, industrial, experimental, and noise, continued our commitment to genera specific specialty programming, and broadcasted from all over the world. KFJC has a long and fascinating history. Thanks for listening!

KFJC station supervisor Doc Pelzel interviews Bob Ballou, first station manager and KFJC architect.
Mr Ballou was on the air Tuesday, October 20th 2009 to sign-on once again at 8pm.
