From "This Is the Wrong Idea" (a.k.a. "Swing and Sweat With Charlie Barnett") in the 1940s through his own big band in the 1950s and beyond, Billy May has composed and arranged many hundreds of outstanding works of music in many different forms. With Humor, Skill, and Adventurous Excitement, the late Billy May was both a sung and unsung hero of American Popular Music. This will be a roughly chronological presentation featuring hits and obscurities from this prolific composer.
